Ukraine gathers 24 million tonnes of grains

 

 

Ukrainian agrarians have reaped early grains and leguminous plants over the areas of 9.54 million ha, or 98% of the forecast, as of August 3, 2012.

 

The produced volumes totalled 24 million tonnes of grains with the average yield of 25.2 c/ha. At the same time, on the same date in 2011 the harvested grain volumes totalled 30.4 million tonnes with the average yield of 30 c/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

 

In particular, as of the reporting date in 2012 agrarians harvested winter barley throughout the areas of 679.4 thsd ha (99.9% of the plan), and produced 1.38 million tonnes of the grain with the average yield at 20.4 c/ha. Agrarians harvested winter wheat throughout 5.33 million ha (98%), and produced 15 million tonnes with the yield of 28.1 c/ha.

 

Ukraine already harvested 500.9 thsd tonnes of spring wheat throughout 178.6 thsd ha (76%). The average yield totaled 28 c/ha. Agrarians harvested 5.55 million tonnes of spring barley throughout 2.57 million ha (99%), with the yield of 21.6 c/ha.

 

Besides, as of the reporting date agrarians harvested 668.1 thsd tonnes of rye throughout the areas of 288 thsd ha (96%), with the average yield of 23.2 c/ha.

Agrarians harvested 363.5 thsd tonnes of peas throughout the areas of 212 thsd ha (99%), with the average yield of 17.2 c/ha.

 

Agrarians harvested winter rapeseed throughout the areas of 514.9 thsd ha (93% of the forecast), and produced 1.13 million tonnes with the average yield of 22 c/ha.

 

According to updated data from regions, Ukraine has to harvest early grains, leguminous crops and rapeseed throughout 10.3 million ha (including wheat - 5.86 million ha, barley - 3.47 million ha, rye - 303 thsd ha, oats - 310 thsd ha, peas - 247 thsd ha).
