Perdue names new senior management members

Perdue Inc., a poultry firm based in Salisbury, Maryland, has announced changes to its senior management team on Thursday (Aug 6).

Perdue has appointed Jim Leighton as president of the company's foodservice division; Clint Rivers as senior vice president of operations and supply chain management, and Luis Luna as vice president of corporate communications.

Leighton, with 25 years of experience in the food industry, joined Perdue in 2006 as senior vice president of operations and supply chain management. Prior to joining Perdue, he was senior vice president of operations at Omaha, Nebraska-based ConAgra Foods. He also had worked for Hain Celestial Food Group, Celestial Seasonings Inc., Nabisco and Richland Bakeries Inc.

Rivers has more than 28 years of food industry experience. He spent 20 years with Pilgrim's Pride Corp, most recently as the Pittsburg, Texas-based company's president and CEO.

Luna has 30 years of experience in federal government and nonprofit organisations. He will manage media and community relations, internal and external communications, corporate contributions and serve as the company's primary spokesperson. He will also provide strategic analysis and counsel to the executive management team on communication issues.
