Ample supplies, subdued demand weaken China methionine market
Prices of methionine slid further during the week ending August 5.
The reduction in poultry feed intake amid hot climates, in conjunction with low inclusion rates of wheat in feed formulation, impeded the sales of methionine.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were lower in the range of RMB26.10-26.50/kg.
Methionine market is poised to remain weak as domestic production increases while demand stays slack.
