Vietnam, Russia sign tra fish contract

Vietnam has made an agreement with Russia to export 30,000 tonnes of tra fish, according to the Management Board for Catfish Export to Russia.

The delivery will be made through this year.

The board also signed an agreement for cooperation with the Russia Seafood Association in seafood processing, and to export around US$300 million worth of seafood to Russia next year.

The agreements to export large volumes of tra will enable Vietnamese farmers to find outlets for their produce.

In the first six months of this year, the Mekong Delta exported a total of 287,000 tonnes of tra fish, worth US$862 million.
