Bangladesh mulls lifting egg import ban
Bangladesh is considering lifting its ban on the import of eggs from countries such as India after egg prices reached US$0.42 for four eggs this week, according to media reports.
According to reports, the move is expected to reduce prices and the government is expected to allow the import of eggs from nations which are free from bird flu.
The embargo on imports, in place since 1993, was aimed at developing the local poultry industry.
