China's soybean imports surge for January to July 2005
China's soybean imports were estimated at 14.44 million tonnes for January to July this year, a 10.67 million tonnes, or 35 percent year-on-year increase, according to reports.
July's soybean imports totalled about 2.57 million tonnes.
For this year's first half, the country imported 12.01 million tonnes of soybean worth about US$3.557 billion, up 33.6 percent and 5.6 percent year-on-year respectively.
