Cautious mood, ample availability hold China methionine market soft
Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending August 3.
Feed producers limited the purchases of ingredients, including methionine, as sales remained slow despite improving livestock farming returns.
China imported 12,586 tonnes of methionine in June, higher by 6.7% on-month.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine dipped to the range of RMB35-36/kg.
Buying interest is expected to stay weak in the near term as feed producers tread prudently.
