Hazeldene's Chicken Farm unveils US$10-million poultry plant
Hazeldene's Chicken Farm of the Bendigo region in Victoria, Australia has announced plans for a new US$10-million poultry processing plant.
The City of Greater Bendigo has approved the poultry plant to be built at Hazeldene's Lockwood site and the company hopes construction will begin later this year. The development will replace the old existing facilities.
The director of corporate affairs, Vicki Gaudion, says it indicates the company's commitment to the region. "Jobs may increase, that will purely depend on the number of birds going through as to the jobs, we are envisaging that the bird numbers will be going up, so that does look on jobs, but to put a figure on it at the moment is a bit too hard," she said.
