Fortis to launch grains futures trading desk

Fortis Bank plans to launch a grains futures trading desk out of its London office, said Jonathan Parkman, director and head of the bank's agri commodity brokerage Friday (August 3).

The desk will focus on commodity derivatives in markets including wheat, corn and oilseeds across all major exchanges and is expected to start trading later this year.

Fortis' London office is already active in trading soft commodity derivatives including sugar, coffee and cocoa.
