Taiwan's MFIG buys 48,000 tonnes corn in tender

Taiwan's Major Feed Industries Group (MFIG) has bought 48,000 tonnes of US-origin feed corn from trading house Itochu in a tender concluded Thursday (Aug 3), a Taipei-based trader said.

MFIG bought 6,985 tonnes of corn at US$164.22/tonne, and bought 41,015 tonnes at a premium of 154.38 US cents/bushel above the Chicago Board of Trade December contract.

The entire shipment will reach Taiwan between Sep 16-30 if shipped from the US Gulf, or Oct 1-15 if shipped from the Pacific Northwest.
