Suspected US cow tests negative for BSE
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that the latest animal suspected to have BSE, or mad cow disease, has tested negative following a final round of tests.
Samples from the 12-year old homegrown cow were sent for further BSE tests after initial results were inconclusive.
The USDA said the final round of tests were done at its national animal disease laboratory and by the Veterinary Laboratories Agency in Weybridge, England.
