Corn prices in China generally stable to lower early this week but dip in north-eastern production regions (Aug 4, 2005)
An eFeedLink exclusive report
Corn prices in China were generally stable to lower early this week.
Prices in the Yellow / Huai River production regions remained stable in recent days.
Transacted prices of corn in inland consumption regions and southern Chinese ports were also generally stable.
However, corn prices dipped in the north-eastern production regions, generally falling by about RMB10-20/tonne. This was mainly a reflection of the recent appreciation of the Renminbi against the US dollar, and the recent outbreak of a swine disease in Sichuan province, which dampened the near term corn market outlook.
