Vietnamese seafood exporters to register with China Accreditation Administration
In order to be eligible for seafood exports to the neighbouring country, Vietnamese companies must register information with the Administration of Certification & Accreditation of China (CNCA).
The registration must be completed prior to May 1 of 2013, the Vietnamese Embassy in China said in a notice sent to Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP).
Analysts said China sets such requirement with an aim to restrict seafood imports.
China is one of main markets of Vietnamese seafood. In the first half of this year, Vietnamese firms earned US$113 million from seafood exports to China and US$67.6 million to Hong Kong, the VASEP said.
