Argentina May Soyoil exports down 9.5 percent at 614,773 tonnes

 

 

Argentina shipped 614,773 tonnes of soyoil in May, down 9.5 percent from the 679,651 tonnes shipped a year earlier, according to the latest Agriculture Secretariat data.

 

China and India were the largest buyers of Argentine soyoil in May, buying 210,245 tonnes and 161,492 tonnes.

 

Argentina also exported 2,677,761 tonnes of soymeal and pellets in May, compared with 2,620,083 tonnes shipped a year earlier. European countries were the leading buyers of soymeal and pellets.

 

Argentina's May soybean exports totalled 1,495,795 tonnes compared to the 1,396,893 shipped in May 2006.

 

China was the leading buyer of soybeans in May, purchasing 1,116,783 tonnes.

 

Argentina is the world's No. 3 soybean producer and exporter behind the US and Brazil and is the leading exporter of soyoil and meal.
