Jordan buys 100,000 tonnes feed barley
Jordan's Ministry of Trade and Industry said Wednesday (Aug 2) that it has bought 100,000 tonnes of feed barley, on a cost and freight basis.
Jordan purchased the barley from Toepfer at the price of US$143.3 a tonne of Russian, Ukraine, or European Union origin at the seller's option, said Muhannad Ghesh, senior importer at the ministry.
The first 50,000 tonnes are for shipment during the second half of August and the remaining 50,000 tonnes are for shipment during the first half of September.
Jordan last bought barley Jul 4 when it purchased 50,000 tonnes--of European Union, Russian, Ukraine and Kazakhstan origin--at the seller's option, from Societe for shipment during the second half of July at US$149.41 a tonne. It also purchased another 50,000 tonnes of Russian or Ukraine origin from Silverstone at US$145.75/tonne for shipment during the first half of August, at the seller's option.
