FC Stone: US corn crop at 10.887 billion bushels; soy at 3.056 billion bushels

 

 

FC Stone released its Aug 1 US production estimates late Wednesday (Aug 2).

 

FC Stone forecast the 2006/07 corn crop at 10.887 billion bushels, with a yield of 151.0 bushels per acre. The soybean crop was estimated at 3.056 billion bushels with a yield of 41.3 bushels an acre.

 

In the July supply and demand report, the US Department of Agriculture estimated US corn production at 10.740 billion bushels with a trendline yield of 149 bushels per acre. USDA pegged soybean production at 3.010 billion bushels and a trendline yield of 40.7 bushels per acre.

 

On Aug 11, the USDA is scheduled to release its first US corn and soybean estimates using field surveys, at 7:30 am CDT (1230 GMT).

 

In 2005, US corn production was 11.112 billion bushels yielding 147.9 bushels per acre, with soybean production of 3.086 billion bushels and a yield of 43.3 bushels.
