US company recalls ground beef
Ray's Wholesale Meats, is voluntarily recalling approximately 120 pounds of ground beef that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, according to USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The product being recalled is 10-pound packages labeled "Ray's Wholesale Meats, Ground Beef, Net Wt. 10 lbs." Each package bears the establishment number "Est. 27504" inside the USDA mark of inspection and the production date, "July 25, 2006."
The problem was discovered through routine FSIS microbiological testing.
There have been no reports of any illnesses associated with this product so far. The ground beef was produced on Jul 25 and was distributed to retailers in Georgia.
