Azerbaijan's 2012 grain yield up by 11.6% on-year
As of July 30 the country gathered 2.519 million tonnes of grain against 2.257 million tonnes for the last year's same term, an increase of 11.6%.
State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reports that at present, harvest has been gathered from 97% of areas allocated for cereal crops (965.500 hectares). Yield volume per centner in 2011 makes 26.1 centners per hectare against 24.7 hectares per centner in 2011.
The report also says that as of July 30, 2012 Sheki region with over 238.900 tonnes of yield became the leader on grain production volume. Jalilabad region is the second -131.000 tonnes, Neftcahala is the third- 102.075 tonnes and Agsu (102.480 tonnes). The largest yield level was recorded in Shamkir- 38.7 centners per hectare against 38.8 centners per hectare in 2011.
