Poultry sector in Australia's Buloke Shire sees growth
The poultry industry in Australia's Buloke Shire is forecasted to grow, says the region's council.
The council is a member of the Northern Poultry Cluster, which promotes the poultry industry in the Buloke, Bendigo, Campaspe and Loddon shires. Buloke Mayor Leo Tellefson says development in larger regional centres is pushing producers towards the Wimmera-Mallee.
"We grow grain up here, because it's the obvious place to be getting a food source from. We have a fairly permanent water supply now with the pipeline, so it's a place where you can do more intensive industries now," councillor Tellefson said.
