Brazil's July soybean exports at 3.09 million tonnes
Brazil exported 3.09 million tonnes of soybeans to world markets in July, up slightly from the 3.07 million tonnes shipped in June, the Foreign Trade Ministry reported Wednesday.
Export volume is still below July 2006 volume of 4.4 million tonnes, however.
Brazil sold an average of 140,600 tonnes of soybeans per day in July compared to 153,700 per day in June. Average prices paid for Brazilian soy rose to US$277.90 per tonne from June prices of US$265.90 per tonne. International soybean prices have risen considerably on the year due to changes in supply in demand in the US, the world's leading soy producer. By comparison, in July 2006, Brazil soybean prices were US$224.50 per tonne for the export markets.
Brazil sold $859.7 million worth of soybeans in July, up from the US$817.4 million in June, but down from the US$978 million in July 2006 due to lower volumes.
Soymeal exports for July rose to 1.2 million tonnes from the 1.1 million tonnes in June. Soymeal exports were 1.6 million tonnes in July 2006.
Daily export averages for Brazilian soymeal were 55,700 compared to 59,700 tonnes in June. Prices paid for Brazilian soymeal rose to US$221.20 per tonne compared to US$214.70 per tonne in June. Revenue from the soymeal trade topped US$271 million compared to US$256.5 million in June.
Soyoil exports for the month of July were up to 193,000 tonnes from June volume of 169,500 tonnes. Daily volume was 8,800 tonnes, compared to 8,500 tonnes in June. Average prices paid for Brazilian soyoil were US$708.90 per tonne, up from US$681.80 per tonne in June.
