Ajinomoto Heartland Plans $23 Million Expansion To Iowa Plant

A Japanese company will invest 23-million-dollars to expand its plant in Iowa, United States.

Ajinomoto Heartland will add 10 to 15 new jobs as part of the project at the plant in Eddyville. Construction will begin this fall and is expected to be completed by February 2006.

The goal is to increase production of an amino acid used in livestock feed.

The Tokyo-based company says the expansion will double the plant's production of threonine, which is used in feed for swine and poultry.
