Lacklustre demand drags down China lysine prices

Lysine continued to fall during the week ending July 30.

Trade remained light as hog producers who were suffering losses withheld purchases. Eager to clear inventories, traders continued to slash prices in a bid to stimulate buying interest.

Price quotes of 65-percent lysine and 70-percent lysine were at RMB5/kg and RMB5.80-6.20/kg respectively.

RMB1=US$0.1619 (Aug 1)
