Brazil's Aurora to invest US$105.5 million in 12 months
Brazilian food company Aurora Alimentos expects to complete investments of at least 198.5 million Brazilian reals (US$105.5 million) in the next 12 months, local news service Estado reported Thursday (July 30).
Santa Catarina-based Aurora planned to make hefty investments last year, but most of them were put on hold during the financial crisis, Estado said.
Aurora, for example, intends to pump BRL60 million into a new unit to produce 80 tonnes of animal feed per hour for chicken farmers, the news service reported.
Brazil is the world's No. 1 chicken exporter.
