China's presence increasingly felt in global folic acid market
China is gradually capturing a bigger share of the global folic acid market. Currently, Germany's Bayer, Swiss-based Roche and US Merck are the major players.
Prices of China-produced folic acid are at least 40 percent lower than those found in the international market. This competitive edge, coupled with its rising production and exports, led analysts to predict that this East Asian giant will become a leading player in the global folic acid market in the foreseeable future.
