Argentina's June soy crush up 6.6 percent on-year

Argentina's June soybean crush totaled 3,249,032 metric tonnes, up 6.6 percent from the 3,047,458 tonnes crushed in June 2006, according to the Agriculture Secretariat's latest data.

Argentina produced 619,384 tonnes of soyoil in June, compared with the 564,361 tonnes produced a year earlier.

Soy pellet output in June totaled 2,499,247 tonnes; up from the 2,374,923 tonnes produced a year ago.

Argentina produced a record 47.6 million tonnes of soybeans in 2006/07, up from 40.5 million tonnes a year earlier, according to the Agriculture Secretariat.

Argentina also crushed 263,691 tonnes of sunseed in June, down from 386,116 tonnes the previous year.

Sunoil production totaled 105,121 tonnes in June, down from 162,057 tonnes a year earlier.

Sunseed pellet output in June was 112,869 tonnes, down from 163,234 tonnes a year earlier.

Argentina grew 3.62 million tonnes of sunseeds in 2006/07, down from 3.8 million tonnes a year earlier, according to the Secretariat.
