Ukraine signs Convention on Grain Trade bill
President Viktor Yanukovych has signed into law the bill on acceding to the Convention on Grain Trade, adopted by the parliament in early July.
The adoption of this law will ensure full-fledged membership of Ukraine in the International Grains Council, which will promote international cooperation, especially in the context of Ukraine's membership in the WTO, access to European and world markets, as well as development of the domestic grain industry.
Revitalisation of work at the International Grains Council also gives Ukraine the possibility of increased participation in international cooperation, and exchanging views on current issues of the world grain market.
In the 2009/10 marketing year, Ukraine continues to be ranked third among the world's leading grain exporters.
