US consumers turning to cheaper cuts of Australian beef
US consumers have turned to poorer cuts of Australian beef as Americans sought to tighten their purse.
Exporters are receiving record prices for poorer cuts of beef despite the high Australian dollar.
Nicole Varley from the National Livestock Reporting Service said with the recession falling in place in the US, Americans are shopping for cheaper meat and have moved away from high-end restaurants to barbeques and fast food chains.
