Corn prices in China generally stable early this week but dip in Sichuan province (Jul 28, 2005)

An eFeedLink exclusive report

Corn prices in China were generally stable early this week, a reflection of the recent appreciation of the Renminbi against the US dollar, which dampened near term corn market outlook and restrained upward price movements.

Prices were generally stable in the north-eastern production regions.

Meanwhile, prices in the Yellow / Huai River production regions were stable to higher in recent days.

Transacted prices of corn in inland consumption regions and southern Chinese ports were generally stable.

However, corn prices in Sichuan province dipped following the recent outbreak of a swine disease in some areas within the province that has resulted in a slow down in corn demand.
