Ukraine's winter grain planting acreage to remain at last year's level

 

 

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Nikolai Prysiazhnyuk said on Wednesday (July 25) that the country's planting areas of winter grains for the harvest-2013 will remain at the last year level.

 

At the same time, he clarified that according to the forecast "the planted areas of winter crops may reduce by 1-3%, or may remain at the same level as last year".

 

At the same time, the Minister did not specified dates for realisation of the autumn planting campaign in the current year.

 

As a reminder, according to data of the State Statistics Service, Ukraine planted winter grains and green fodder for the harvest-2012 throughout 9.34 million hectares.
