Ukraine's poultry population up 9.4%

In June, Ukraine's poultry population rose by 9.4% or 20.377 million heads, compared with May, to 237.389 million heads as of July 1, 2011.

In private farms, the poultry population increased by 21.8% or 23.524 million heads, and in specialized farms fell by 2.9% or 3.148 million heads.

In comparison with July 1, 2010, poultry population rose by 1.9% or 4.322 million heads.

In specialised farms, the poultry population rose by 2.6% or 2.733 million heads, and in private farms by 1.2% or 1.588 million heads.

In May, the poultry population grew by 10.6% or 20.841 million heads, compared with April, to 217.012 million heads as of June 1, 2011.
