China's summer-harvested rapeseed output is estimated at 12.9 million tonnes, up 12 percent and a new record, the Ministry of Agriculture said over the weekend.

Summer-harvested rapeseed accounts for more than 90 percent of the country's annual rapeseed production.

Meanwhile, early rice output is estimated at 33 million tonnes, an eight-year high, the ministry said in a statement posted on its Web site.

China had harvested 89 percent of its early rice as of Sunday (July 26).

China's summer grain output rose 2.2 percent on year to 123.35 million tonnes, the government said earlier this month.

Total grain area is expected to rise 1.4 percent compared with last year to 108 million hectares, the ministry said in the weekend statement.
