Betagro strengthens networks nationwide

The Betagro Group is strengthening its wholesale unit by expanding its network nationwide.

The Betagro Group, one of Thailand's top five agri-businesses, is increasing its number of stores across the country, with the aim of generating sales of THB1.1 billion (US$32.24 million) this year, says Vasit Taepaisitphongse, executive vice president and chief operating officer, adding that the current downturn has not had a negative impact on this company or its performance.

Vasit says Betagro Shops may expand from 23 to 46 outlets by the end of this year, and expects to have 120 outlets nationwide in three years.

In the first half of the year, the group's revenue, he says, rose to THB23 billion, 80 percent of which was contributed locally and the remainder from exports.

Positioned as wholesale outlets, the Betagro Shops supply fresh food products, including pork, chicken, meatballs, sausages, eggs and frozen cooked foods under such brands as Hymeat, Better Food and Farm. The outlets, he says, will also serve as distribution centres, managed under proven manufacturing, distribution and delivery standards
