UK funds pork marketing projects
The British Pig Executive (BPEX) has allocated almost GBP200,000 (US$371,000) to help develop ideas that would bring an overall improvement to the British pig industry.
BPEX consumer marketing manager Chris Lamb remarked that there are some exciting projects in this tranche of the grant scheme.
The plan, now in its fourth year, would see 11 projects being developed.
Projects include developing a local branded fresh pork supply, developing locally sourced production for butchers, farm shops, and packers, and creating a new range of products requested by customers.
