Kazakhstan may double production and export of grain
Kazakhstan has the capacity to double production and export of grain in the near future, Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Minister of Agriculture told local media Tuesday (Jun 25).
A third of Kazakhstan's annual grain production, standing at 15-16 million tonnes currently, is exported.
Current resources enable the country to double grain production and export of grain, Yessimov said.
The minister has said that there are large swathes of land available for grain production in Kazakhstan. With development, sown area can be increased by 1.5 times, the minister said.
