Vietnam's large shrimps exports up

Vietnam's exports of large shrimps have risen by 20 to 30 percent since the beginning of this month, local shrimp exporters said.

Most of the increase is attributed to the US and Japanese markets. American businesses are increasing imports as stockpiled shrimps in the US are running out.

Because of the increased demand, prices of large-sized shrimp have also increased about 9.8 percent to VND92,000-93,000/kg (approximately US$5.80).

Shrimp prices are expected to rise in the near future.
