A 7% increase in this year's domestic soymeal demand triggered by expansions in the poultry and shrimp industries has been driving the price surge which started last month. Thailand has the most advanced soy crushing facilities in Southeast Asia, producing around 1.33 million tonnes of soymeal a year.
