Russia mulls 90 percent duty on over-quota poultry imports

  

 

The Russian government is currently considering increasing the duty on above-quota poultry imports to 90 percent of the customs value to protect domestic producers, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov said Thursday (July 24), Prime-Tass news agency reported.

  

In January, the government increased the duty on above-quota poultry imports to 60 percent, but no less than EUR0.48 a kilogramme, from 50 percent, but no less than EUR0.40 a kilogramme, for the period ending December 31.
