Mexico and Russia ban US meat plants

 
 

Mexico and Russia on Thursday (Jul 23) suspended meat imports from several US plants, according to USDA's Food Safety and Inspection.

 

Mexico suspended imports of beef from Cargill's Friona, Texas, facility.

 

Russia banned pork imports from John Morrell's Sioux Falls, South Dakota, slaughterhouses, and two Cloverleaf Cold Storage facilities in Cherokee, Iowa, and Sioux City, Iowa, respectively.

 

In the meanwhile, Russia has also lifted a ban on poultry imports from Butterball LLC's Carthage, Missouri, plant.
