The quantity of hog shrank at a faster pace, driving down pork carcass sales over the week by 2.17% to 8,449 tonnes. Hence, even though pork demand remained flat, prices increased, lifting hog prices up at a faster pace of 4.5% on average. Hog prices have surged over 7% accumulatively.
