Argentina shipped 85,135 tonnes of poultry products during the first half of 2008, up 25 percent on the year, the agricultural sanitation and quality service, Senasa, said in a release Tuesday (July 22).
Poultry exports from January through June were valued at more than $124 million, up 52 percent on the year, Senasa said.
Fresh poultry exports during the period went primarily to Chile, South Africa and Venezuela, Senasa said.
China and Hong Kong led imports of Argentine poultry feet, wings, and other parts.
Processed poultry exports during the period totalled 1,855 tonnes, a 17 percent year-on-year decrease in volume, Senasa said. Germany and Holland were the leading buyers of Argentina's processed poultry shipments in the first half of the year.
