France Gènes and Hypor expands gilt distribution partnership in France

France Gènes, a pig genetics distribution company, and Hypor, a pig breeding division of Hendrix Genetics, will merge gilt distribution activities from September 1, 2014.
Hypor's dam lines will be available directly from France Gènes who will assume responsibility for all of Hypor's multiplication sites serving the French market. Both technical and commercial activities from these sites will be transferred from Hypor France to France Gènes. Hypor will continue to focus on breeding all genetic lines in its nucleus facilities located in Sichamps and Civray, France and supply Grand Parent breeding stock from these locations to the multiplication sites of France Gènes.
"This partnership strengthens the position of France Gènes in the French market and benefits the customers of both companies," remarked Xavier Rouillé, director of France Gènes. "Our collaboration with Hypor will offer added value to the producer, ultimately contributing to growth in our mutual business."
"By working in close cooperation, we will continue to advance genetic progress in pig production in France through supporting Hypor's superior breeding lines and focused efforts to build the individual strengths of both companies," added Stéphane Jeuland, general manager of Hypor France. "Hypor is a global breeding company with an effective breeding programme focused on chain efficiency. France Gènes works closely with local producers, and is able to serve all their needs with the close support of Hypor."
The partnership with Hypor means that France Gènes can deliver constant, balanced and accelerated genetic progress through a comprehensive portfolio of high performance products, which includes two Parent Stock gilts, Hypor Maxya [SS1] and Hypor Libra, and the leading Piétrain boar, Hypor Maxter.
The combined expertise of the two companies will create a new player in swine genetics in France. The name of the new enterprise will be announced at SPACE 2014, which takes place from September 16-19, 2014, in Rennes, France.
