Japan purchases 129,587 tonnes of wheat
Japan's Ministry of Agriculture purchased a total of 129,587 tonnes of food wheat from the US, Canada, and Australia in a regular tender that closed on Thursday (Jul 21), a ministry official said.
The wheat is for loading in September.
Japan buys about five million tonnes of foreign wheat a year for milling use, which accounts for about 90% of domestic consumption.
