Australia's Baiada goes for poultry output boost

Baiada, one of the major chicken meat producers in Australia, has plans of enlarging its business in southern New South Wales.

The Baiada Group and the Griffith Council have been discussing ways on how to increase poultry production with the development of new chicken growing sheds.

The council's managing director, Peter Brooks, says he welcomes the opportunity which could provide more jobs in the city of Griffith.

"Good news for us, because obviously if we expand the amount of chickens grown here, the processing facilities will expand as well, which will improve the employment in the area," Brooks said.
