Japan relists JBS beef plant
Japan has relisted a JBS-Packerland beef plant as an approved exporter after an eight-month suspension, according to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
Products derived from animals slaughtered at the company's Green Bay, Wisconsin, facility on or after July 21 will be eligible for export to Japan, FSIS said.
In December 2008, Japan suspended imports from the JBS-Packerland plant because the products could not be verified as originating from cattle younger than 21 months of age.
