Iraq close to signing hard wheat contract with US company

 Iraq is almost ready to buy 650,000 tonnes of hard wheat from US company, Cargill Inc., to be concluded under a contract soon, according to the government. A similar amount would also be bought from Australian wheat exporter AWB Ltd.

Iraq needs to import about 3 million tonnes of wheat annually.
