UK minister determined to fight on against bovine TB
Despite the High Court's ruling against a badger cull, Wales' rural affairs minister Elin Jones has pledged a continuous commitment to tackle bovine TB.
Jones said she was determined to "eradicate, not simply manage" bovine tuberculosis in Wales.
"Last week's judgement was obviously disappointing to beef and dairy farmers throughout Wales," said Jones. "My message is: Do not be disheartened. We will not give up. Yes, this is a setback and a hurdle which must be overcome, but my commitment to eradicate this animal disease is as strong as it was in 2007 when we were required to tackle foot-and-mouth disease."
