China's COFCO to supply non-modified corn to Japan
COFCO Limited, a leading grain, oils and foodstuffs import and export group in China, has signed a contract with a Japanese company to supply top-quality non-modified corn to Japan from now on.
Gu Lifeng, vice general manager at COFCO, said he was glad that Japanese consumers have accepted China-produced non-modified corn.
On the other hand, COFCO recently tied up a deal with the Xinxiang Government of Henan Province on the establishment of a grain storage and logistics centre.
The project is initiated in order to better the services of source control, efficient transit and value-added trade. With implementations on a higher level basis and based on stricter standards, the centre will be focusing on transit service and it will be operated on a decentralised basis.
