New bird flu outbreak in Bangladesh
Bangladeshi veterinary authorities have informed the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) about one new outbreak of bird flu, dated July 14, 2009.
It reports one new case of bird flu at a commercial farm near Chittagong. Fifty birds of a flock of 969 birds were found dead from 21 June. The rest of the flock has been destroyed.
The presence of the H5N1 virus sub-type has been confirmed.
