Bird flu confirmed in Bulgarian farm
Bulgarian authorities reported its first case of bird flu Thursday (Jul 20) in a village near Kurdzhali, authorities said.
Animal health experts have undertaken checks of local fowl after mass deaths of birds were reported.
Initial tests have detected a bird flu virus, the Agriculture Ministry announced at press conference.
All fowl and turkeys from three farms were culled and disinfection carried out. There were also tightened controls placed on passing trucks and vehicles, the officials said.
