Malaysia's eggs to cost SDG0.01 more in Singapore
Eggs imported from Malaysia will cost SGD0.01 (US$0.007) more each with effect from July 19, and local egg farms may adjust their prices.
This comes after the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) suspended the sale of eggs produced by N and N Agriculture Farm, which were found to contain an antibiotic called doxycycline. The AVA was doing a routine surveillance test on local poultry farms on Saturday (Jul 17).
Farm staff said they did not feed their live poultry the antibiotic and they suspected there was something wrong with the feed.
